Watching my mother graduate from college was the best day of my life.  It was that day that I realized anything is possible and that the one thing no one can ever take away from you is an education.  However, I can't imagine what life would've been like walking through the campus of Howard University and running into mother as a student.  I imagine the gamut of emotions would be somewhere in the vicinity of elated, mortified, confused, yet knowing the one person on earth the loves me unconditionally would be there to see me make some of the biggest triumphs and failures as a college student is somehow slightly comforting.

Melissa McCarthy is comedic perfection in  Life of the Party.   Deanna (Melissa McCarthy) put her dreams and aspirations of being an archaeologist on hold for her family and becomes content with the life she has carved out for herself.  However, when her husband Dan (Matt Walsh) declares he wants a divorce after dropping their daughter off to college Deanna's life is turned upside down.  And that's when the party begins...

When I tell you I haven't laughed this hard in a minute...I do not exaggerate!!!!  This is Melissa McCarthy's funniest film to date.  Written alongside her husband Ben Falcone (who has a cameo as a Uber driver), Life Of The Party is witty realism at it best.  Deanna not only goes back to school to grab that degree, but becomes a sorer, teacher's pet and those "cougar" scenes with Deanna's college boyfriend Jack (Luke Benward) are beyond hilarious.  FYI...those scenes were filmed on McCarthy's real-life 10th wedding anniversary.  Talk about the 10-year itch:).

So, grab your mother this Mother's Day and giggle your face off with Life Of The Party.  Who knows?  It has totally inspired my Mom and I to go back to grabs some degrees we left in the dust all those years ago.  Life of The Party is in theaters NOW and produced by New Line Cinema.
