Taraji P. Henson Goes Off The Rails in Tyler Perry's Acrimony
/
How many of you out there have been involved with a man or a woman who wasn't needy, but could never contribute anything to the relationship from a financial standpoint? You know the ones who never have money to pay for an outing to dinner, theatre or a concert. The ones who have dreams higher than their current wallet that seem like they will never see the light of day? Raise your hands.
I'm right there with you. I've also been that person on the other end of the phone when someone I was involved with was whispering or sounding "funny" because they were in the company of another female.
Well, baby...Melinda (Taraji P. Henson) endured all of that and them some with her husband (Lyriq Bent) who secured her trust after the death of her Mom. Upon finding out Melinda had been left with a sizable amount of funds and a house, Robert played the "love" card" until funds were depleted and the house was lost. Only then does Robert get a break with his battery invention and by this time, Melinda has kicked him and his battery to the curb. That's when stuff gets crazy and so does Melinda.
Taraji P. Henson is in rare form as the woman in the black version of "The First Wives Club" and gets twisted when she doesn't reap the benefits from years of 'standing by her man'.
Other than a few storyline inconsistencies, I was rather entertained by this film. I like Tyler Perry movies and appreciated the actors performances even more knowing that this film was shot in a 8-9 day period.
So, for those of you who have been burned, don't get mad...get even and take your significant other to check out Acrimony. Trust me...it will make for a very interesting and thought-provoking conversation.
