Stranger Things hit SAG Awards with Viola Making History and Hidden Figures Blasting Off

The Screen Actors Guild Awards are always a highlight of the award season because the love comes directly from the acting community.  Needless to say, actors showed up and showed out casting their Ensemble votes for Hidden Figures and giving Fences mad love by honoring Best Actor Denzel Washington with his very first "actor" along with Mahershala Ali  for Best Supporting Actor (Moonlight) and Supporting Actress Viola Davis for her mind-blowing performance in Fences.  Davis is making history all over the place in 2017.  Not only is she the first actress of color to ever be nominated for three films, but is the first African-American woman to win an Emmy for Best Actress.  He's hoping the next award she takes home is that Oscar...FINALLY!!!

The heartfelt speeches of Ali and Davis will serve as inspiration for generations of actors to come...

An immigrant ban coming into the US politically motivated winners with speeches that lit up the stage on more than one occasion.  Of course no one addresses this issue better than Taraji P. Henson and Lifetime Achievement winner Lily Tomlin...

Netflix led all networks and studios with four wins — the two for The Crown, plus Stranger Things and Ensemble comedy cast  Orange Is The New Black — and only HBO also managed more than one, Cranston for All The Way and the Stranger Things cast. John Lithgow and Claire Foy hit the stage to accept statuettes for their respective lead roles as Winston Churchill and Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown.   It was a night full of surprises and "Stranger Things" for sure.
